YouTube is blocking the server right now (“confirm you’re not a bot”). This usually clears by itself within a couple of hours — saved transcripts work as normal, only new videos can’t be fetched until then.
Paste a YouTube video or playlist link above, or pick one from History.
This video is part of a playlist.
▶ Tap play on the video once — on an iPhone the first play has to come from the player itself. After that, tapping a timestamp plays from there by itself.
720p video, up to 10 minutes (about 12 MB per minute). It's made in the background and shows up on the Clips tab, where you can save it to Photos.
Phrases work (“see a circle”). * = any one word: “see * circle” also finds “see uh circle”. Nothing exact? YVS shows close matches.
Paste a playlist link above to see its videos, then pick the ones you want. YVS fetches them slowly in the background (about one every 30 seconds, so YouTube doesn't block us) — you can close the app meanwhile.
* = any one word (“see * circle”). Nothing exact? YVS shows close matches.
Tick the videos you want and tap Fetch selected — nothing is fetched until you do. Saved ones (✓) open with a tap; their ±3 ticks the three videos before and after them.
No clips yet. On the Video tab open “✂ Make a clip”, or tap ✂ next to a search hit.
Drag the box to move it, drag a corner to resize.
🧪 Beta — the Live tab and Whisper transcription are still being tested and may not always work as intended yet.
Live streams you paste wait here. YouTube makes no transcript while a stream
is running, so YVS looks again every 20 minutes or so and saves the full transcript by itself once the stream
has ended and YouTube has made its captions (that can take a few hours after the end).
Can't wait? 🎙 Transcribe now makes a rougher transcript from the audio with Whisper speech-to-text — from
the start of the stream, then following it live, about a minute behind. YouTube's own replaces it later.
Nothing here. Paste a link to a live stream on the Video tab and it lands here.
Videos you fetch show up here — including failed ones, so you can retry them.
